Built in 1836, this award-winning 11,000-sq-ft antebellum mansion is on the National Register of Historic Places and is considered one of the most beautiful examples of antebellum architecture in the South. In his book "Antebellum Homes of Georgia," David King Gleason writes that Margaret Mitchell recommended Twelve Oaks as a model for Ashley's home in the "Gone With The Wind" movie.
Eight guest rooms include luxurious amenities such as flat panel TVs, free WiFi, remote control fireplaces, plush Turkish robes and fine linens. One of the suites features a rare and antique ribcage shower from the late 1800s, which is a guest favorite and sprays you like a carwash, while another has a jetted spa tub with chromotherapy and aromatherapy. Our Southern Sippin' and Nibblin' Hour is included, turndown service with truffles in the evening, and a homecooked breakfast in the morning.
Located in Covington, known as the Hollywood of the South for the 90+ films and tv shows that have filmed here.
