The Decatur Cemetery is the City of Decatur's largest green space at approximately 54 acres. The landscaping and monuments in the 7.5 acre Old Section are historically significant and contain headstones dating back to the early 1800's. The cemetery contains many names from Decatur, DeKalb and Georgia history, including politicians, educations, authors, doctors, musicians and solders from every war from the American Revolution to contemporary conflicts.

A self-guided Walking Tour map and brochure is available year round. Alternatively, tours are conducted throughout the spring and summer by Friends of Decatur Cemetery volunteers. Second Sunday Strolls begin at the wellhouse on the second Sunday of each month from May through October at 2:30 p.m. Special group tours can also be arranged by contacting friendsofthedecaturcemetery@gmail.com.

Dogs on leashes are welcome, but must be kept on the roadway.
