Housed in the Laurens County Library, the mission of the Dublin-Laurens Heritage Center is to collect, preserve, and make accessible genealogical and historical information. The atmosphere is unrushed for genealogy. Piecing together a family puzzle takes time, patience, perseverance and resources.
The Dublin-Laurens Heritage Center offers Internet access, interlibrary loan services, research assistance and workshops designed to build knowledge in using the resources of the Heritage Center. Collections include federal census records and indexes released to date for the state of Georgia, microfilmed court records and newspapers for many neighboring counties, an extensive Laurens County obituary file from The Courier Herald from the 1960s to present, family histories, Georgia county histories, newspaper abstracts, yearbooks, directories, military abstracts, indexes for Revolutionary through Civil War, and land lottery records.
