Blue Cielo Farms - Lake Russell

Blue Cielo Farms is a family-owned Georgia farm winery with vineyards in Elberton and Commerce.  

Blue Cielo Farms – Lake Russell was built and founded by the late Dale Lyman in 2012 and was opened to the public in late 2021 as Lake Russell Vineyards. The Wiseman family purchased the property in the fall of 2022 and reopened it as Blue Cielo Farms on February 4th, 2023. We are honored for the opportunity to carry Dale’s dream and to be a part of Elbert County.

The vineyard is situated on 33 acres on a peninsula of picturesque Richard B Russell Lake in Elbert County Georgia. Just 35 miles from Athens, GA and the university and 25 miles from Anderson, SC. The vineyard is approximately 3.5 acres of varietals Norton, Lenoir, Blanc du Bois, Chambourcin, and Crimson Cabernet.

Blue Cielo Farms – Commerce was established in 2017.  We have approximately 3 acres planted of varietals Villard Blanc, Carlos, Norton, Lomanto, Chardonel, and Lenoir vines.   Our tasting room is planned to open to the public in 2024.   The vineyard is situated at the north end of a 185 acre certified tree farm, a recognition we received from the American Tree Farm System for our long-term stewardship plan and commitment to forestry and conservation management best practices.

We are very excited and grateful for the opportunity to be stewards of Elbert and Jackson County’s first Farm Wineries.
