Exotic and beautiful, wild Burmese chickens roam the commercial and residential streets of Historic Fitzgerald. Residents have a love/hate relationship with these birds, with some feeding them seed and others chasing them out of their yards with a broom and a few choice words. This celebration for the colorful birds is held the third weekend of March at the annual The Wild Chicken Festival.
