The Historic Banks County Courthouse & Museum, located in Homer, is one of the 4 oldest courthouses in Georgia. It is a two-story antebellum structure with columns and handmade bricks. The courthouse was in use by the county until 1987, when it was restored and now houses historic exhibits, the Chamber and a Welcome Center. It is on the National Registry of Historical Places.
Today, it houses a local historical society museum, which features art, WWII memorabilia and historic records.
