Woods-N-Water Summer Artifact Adventures

We are happy to announce that starting in June of 2022 we will be hosting our second Artifact Adventure weekend. These camps will be offered four times throughout the summer: June 10-12, July 8-10, July 22-24, and August 5-7.

These family-oriented weekend adventures will take place at Woods-N-Water Plantation near Irwinton, Georgia. Your family can not only enjoy some exciting artifact hunting but also learn about Native American history and culture.

Families will arrive in camp on Friday afternoon and spend some time fishing, hog hunting*, shooting bows/guns, and enjoying all the amenities we have to offer at Woods-N-Water. On Saturday there will be numerous seminars on Native American history and culture, their weapons/tools as well as demonstrations on making primitive weapons like primitive bows, arrows, and spears. Later in the afternoon, we will talk about where and how to find Native American artifacts on your own land!

On Sunday participants will be able to do some artifact hunting right on the property. Woods-N-Water Plantation is located on a major trade route for the Native Americans and is the home of numerous Native American campsites that date as far back as 10,000 years ago. We have recovered thousands of artifacts on these campsites which are now displayed in our on-site museum. During your stay, you will be allowed to visit our museum and hunt for Native American artifacts located on the property.

Aside from artifact hunting, guests are encouraged to enjoy all of the amenities that Woods-N-Water has to offer. In your free time you are welcome to do some hiking around the property, go fishing at one of our many private ponds and lakes, go wild hog hunting, spend some time shooting your bow, shotgun, rifle, or pistol, and enjoy sitting around the campfire or in the four-person hot tub.
