On February 3, 1971 at the Thiokol Plant, twenty-nine of the workers perished and fifty or more were injured in a deadly explosion.
The museum honors those workers who gave their lives and contains eight exhibits telling the story of the plant leading up to the explosion, beginning when it manufactured solid rocket propellant engines for NASA, and later, munitions for the military to support the war in Vietnam. Visit downtown Kingsland and learn about the heroes who gave their lives.
