A family-friendly event, Lockerly in Lights in Milledgeville allows guests to drive through a winter wonderland filled with shimmering lights and festive, holiday cheer. The one-mile holiday lights display has emerged as a seasonal favorite by offering guests a rare opportunity to experience Lockerly Arboretum amid the moonlight. Open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, the trail is drive-through only on Thursday nights. On Friday and Saturday nights, the trail is walk-through only, and advance tickets are required.

Also along the tour, you’ll catch a glimpse of how the elves, reindeer, and Mr. and Mrs. Claus live at the North Pole. From toy making to reindeer flight school, stilt walking, and yoga, these giant displays will have your whole crew engaged in the preparation for the big day. After the show, visit Santa’s Village for photo ops, activities, tasty treats, and even the jolliest man himself, Santa Claus.

LIFE University in Marietta introduced the Lights of LIFE in 1989 as a gift to the local community, and it has now grown to be one of the most popular light shows in the Southeast, attracting nearly half a million spectators from the surrounding region. Cars, vans, and buses cruise through the spectacularly illuminated campus each year, often stopping along the 1.5-mile drive to enjoy an array of seasonal entertainments.

Park the car and hop in a boat to take in the colorful displays at "Christmas Cove" on Lake Sinclair in Milledgeville, where a unique, local tradition has been for neighbors to adorn their docks with Christmas cheer. Reflections of holiday lights dance on the water for all to see. Soar across the lake, bundled up with steaming cocoa in hand, and cruise toward the south dam to one of the last coves on the right. You can't miss it! Lights are turned on nightly starting on Thanksgiving and through the end of the year.

10. Macon Christmas Light Extravaganza in Macon
Experience more than 1 million lights spanning more than four city blocks moving in time to music arranged and performed by the Macon Pops in historic downtown Macon. Each song features a local artist keeping Macon's rich music heritage alive, and each show lasts about 45 minutes starting at the top of each hour: 6, 7, 8, & 9 p.m. Nightly shows are completely open and free to the public. Bring your own chair when you visit for the free Macon Pops Opening Concert, and enjoy the show synchronized with the lights on Poplar Street and Third Street.
