Prospect Methodist is located in Norwood and was organized in 1846. The land for the church was bought for $20 on February 4, 1846. The church has been very well preserved by the congregation and is in use today. The church still has bathrooms that are located in a separate building. The church used the money they received from selling timber from the land to build the porch on the front in 1936. Originally the church used kerosene and gas lamps, but in 1952 they were replaced with electric lights.
