Georgia Restaurants Earn MICHELIN Guide Recognition

The esteemed dining guide praises Atlanta-area chefs and restaurants for culinary excellence.

The MICHELIN Guide has come to Georgia! The first MICHELIN Guide Atlanta selection, featuring restaurants throughout the metro Atlanta area, has been announced, giving food and travel enthusiasts a lot more to explore in Georgia’s capital city. In the inaugural year, five restaurants earned one MICHELIN Star, 10 restaurants earned a Bib Gourmand rating, and 30 restaurants were named Recommended eateries. In addition, two restaurants earned MICHELIN Green Stars, and four restaurants earned special awards.

All restaurants in the Guide are selected by MICHELIN’s anonymous Inspectors, who evaluate restaurants following MICHELIN’s historical methodology. The MICHELIN Stars — one, two or three — are awarded to unparalleled cuisine; the Bib Gourmand is given to restaurants that offer great quality food at good prices; the MICHELIN Green Star is awarded to restaurants that are leaders in sustainable gastronomy. “Our famously anonymous Inspectors enjoyed experiencing Atlanta and its dynamic culinary landscape,” said Gwendal Poullennec, the International Director of the MICHELIN Guides. “They came away impressed with the diverse offerings, as the selection of restaurants not only reflects a taste of the South, but also has a good deal of international flavor. There is so much for foodies to savor here. Whether they’re local residents or international travelers, they’re in for a treat!”

The 2023 MICHELIN Guide Atlanta features a total of 45 restaurants. Descriptions of each along with Inspectors’ comments can be viewed on the MICHELIN Guide website and mobile app.
