Backwater Expeditions
Backwater Expeditions is the oldest and largest tour operator in Effingham County and provides personal guided tours of Ebenezer Creek one of the most pristine and historic backwater black-water waterways the south has to offer. Ebenezer is a National Natural Landmark and 1 of 4 Wild and Scenic Rivers in the state.
Ebenezer has no real current and floods out to swamps covered with Tupelo and Cypress trees that have yet to not impress. Paddle through the creek and the virgin swamps and see what early settlers of this great country may have seen.
We are on a natural birding trial and see many visitors rest in the moss draped trees and listen as they sing to each other as they pass on through.
Sometimes you just need a little paddling, come join us!
