Cannon's Point Preserve is a 600-acre tract of greenspace at the north end of St. Simons Island open for public exploration. This location features wild native species, a beautiful mature maritime forest, and six miles of marsh-upland interface, and is also linked to the lower Altamaha River delta which is one of the most biologically rich systems and considered by The Nature Conservancy as a coastal area of the highest priority.

The site also features many shell rings and middens that date back to 2500 BCE and plantation ruins from the 19th Century. The property was acquired by the St. Sions Land Trust in 2012 and is operated by the Land Trust and skilled volunteers. If visiting, wear long pants and long sleeves, and keep in mind that limited restrooms are available near the parking area. Additional restrooms are located at Frederica Park. No pets are allowed.
