Established in 1827, Talbot County has a rich heritage, it is the historical home to some of Georgia's most influential citizens and is located 2 hours south of Atlanta.

The Romanesque style courthouse on the historic town square was built in 1892. Talbot County boasts churches, doctors, a health center, emergency medical services, a local newspaper, public library, clubs, restaurants, antique shops, an annual fall festival, a fourth of July fireworks, a farm, museum, agricultural center, deer & turkey hunting, fishing lake, archeological Indian site & white water rafting.

Come by the Chamber of Commerce for a taped walking or driving tour of historic Talbotton, the county seat of Talbot County.

If it's hunting or fishing that you are looking for, Talbot County is a sportsman's paradise.  Deer and wild turkeys are abundent.  The Big Lazar Wildlife Management Area offers great fishing and hunting is also available.
