Roosevelt Warm Springs

Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation (RWS) was founded by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1927 as a polio rehabilitation facility where patients could heal together in the warm and mineral rich springs. Since the invention of the polio vaccine, RWS has focused on continuing President Roosevelt's legacy through empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve personal independence and employment success through Vocational Rehabilitation programs. A one-hour guided historical tour is offered Monday through Friday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Self-Guided historical tours are available during open hours.
