Hiking Suspension Bridge view from the top of our Screaming Eagle Tower!
Hike in the lost Gorge of Snake Creek and try out some of the longest suspension bridges in the USA. At Historic Banning Mills Conservancy and Adventure Resort, there are over 15 miles of trails to experience. Some along the beautiful Snake Creek, some along the ridge lines of the gorge, some on historic old town roads and of course don't forget the sky bridges! At 150 ft high and 700 feet long, these suspension bridges are sure to take your breath away!

At Historic Banning Mills, normal hiking trails just don't cut it! We allow you to experience this beautiful location from the air. We have created an entire eco tour experience in the sky with over 90 bridges, some exceeding 700 feet in length!

We have 2 categories of bridges:

  • Suspension Bridges that connect our 15 + miles of  hiking trails that don't require any safety gear!
  • Suspension Bridges on our Zip Line Canopy Tours that are an amazing part of our Eco-Canopy experience that require participants be in a harness connected to our closed belay system.

BRIDGES ON OUR HIKING TRAILS

We have over 15 miles of nature trails with 12 suspension bridges and many ground bridges that view Snake Creek Gorge, lakes, and forest land on over 300 acres of conservation land. Explore unique plants and animals that are rare to see in the area. Get the bridge stats below.

Adventure Tower Bridge

  • Length: 530 feet
  • Height: 90 feet above Snake Creek
  • This is our most recognizable bridge as it is closest to the lodge and is used by many to access the Adventure Tower and Tree House Village across the creek.

Big Shoals Bridge

  • Length: 730 feet across
  • Height: 140 feet above Snake Creek
  • This bridge is big enough to drive our Eco-Spider ATVs across! Big Shoals Bridge offers great views of the Gorge and is close to the historic Banning Mill. This bridge is accessible on the Laurel Ridge Trail.

We have many additional suspension and ground bridges of various sizes. Explore our trails for surprises around every corner!

Our hiking trails require a $7 per person park fee to assist with keeping our trails clean and well managed.

BRIDGES ON OUR ZIP LINE CANOPY TOURS

We have over 90 sky bridges on our Zip Line Canopy Tours. These thrilling bridges require harnesses and the use of our continuous belay system.

Because you are safely harnessed, these bridges have various designs from wide planks to a single plank or wire to traverse. Our Sky Trek Bridge is 640 feet long and 190 above Snake Creek!

Book your Zip Line Canopy Tour to experience these amazing bridges!

We do have a small portion of the trails paved which go to the nature center for our live Birds of Prey Shows. (you can check our website for the show dates. Please check before coming since dates can change for the show). This trail is handicap accessible. Historic Banning Mills is NOT a state park. It is a private conservancy center. There is a $7 per person fee to access the trails. We Do NOT allow pets on site. Thank you for your understanding.
