The Twelve Oaks Bed and Breakfast in Covington
Not only was The Twelve Oaks Bed and Breakfast an inspiration for Ashley's home in the movie "Gone With the Wind," it is also a favorite of Ian Somerhalder, star of "The Vampire Diaries" TV series. The beautiful 12,000-square-foot home located in Covington is perfect for a romantic getaway. 1842 Inn in Macon
The 1842 Inn was built in 1842 in the Greek Revival architecture but has seen some structural antebellum changes since then. The inn now consists of 19 guest rooms, hospitality parlors, service facilities, as well as a courtyard and porches for entertaining. The interior is decorated with fine English antiques and paintings, oriental carpets, tapestries, and elaborate draperies. Oprah Winfrey was one of the inn’s most notable guests. Georgian Terrace in Atlanta
Opened in 1911, the Georgian Terrace is an iconic hotel in Midtown Atlanta with floor-to-ceiling windows, crystal chandeliers, and white marble columns. The hotel hosted the premiere gala of "Gone With the Wind" in 1939 and has since been host to cast and crew for many of the major motion pictures filmed in Atlanta. During your stay, plan to attend an event at the Fox Theatre, which is located directly across the street from the hotel. The hotel also offers a romance package as an option for guests. Antebellum in Flowery Branch
Located in an elegant 1890s home, Antebellum is a favorite of locals and visitors alike. The contemporary Southern cuisine restaurant offers a seasonal menu, a beautiful wrap-around porch and great ambiance. It’s no wonder the restaurant drew the attention of Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler while they were in town filming.
